About Us

At Roscommon Academy of Music, our mission is to inspire a lifelong love of music in our students. We are committed to providing a positive and inclusive environment where students of all ages and abilities can develop their musical skills. Our focus is not only on mastering technique but also on fostering creativity, building confidence, and encouraging personal growth. Through well-structured programs, we aim to help students gain a deeper understanding of music, express themselves with confidence, and connect with others through performance. We believe that music has the power to enrich lives and create lasting connections, both personally and within the community.

Aoife Griffin is the founder of the Roscommon Academy of Music. She is a traditional Irish musician and educator from County Roscommon, Ireland, now based in Boston. Aoife holds a First Class Honors BA in Irish Music Performance and Irish Language (Gaeilge) from the Irish World Academy of Music & Dance at the University of Limerick, as well as her  Teastas i dTeagasc Ceolta Tíre (TTCT) Teacher Training from Comhaltas.

In 2021, Aoife moved to Boston on a graduate visa, where she quickly fell in love with the city and its vibrant Irish music community. Aoife made the decision to remain in Boston full-time, dedicating herself to sharing her deep knowledge of Irish music and culture with the local community. She now performs regularly at some of Boston’s premier Irish music venues and teaches students of all ages and skill levels, helping to preserve and promote Ireland’s rich musical traditions.
